Pastor Joe Corrales

Pastor Joe has been married to Martha Corrales since June 10, 1973. They have two sons; Steven and Reuben and one daughter Laura Corrales Spicer. Steven is married to Nicole and have an extended family of Tahlia and Brady. Laura is married to Andrew Spicer and they have two children; Jaedn and Evan.

Out of high school, Pastor Joe went into the military and served his country as a non-combatant, combat medic in Vietnam and was discharged honorably.

Pastor Joe is a bi-vocational pastor and has been since 1988. He has worked in the computer field for many years and has served as a pastor at the same time. Pastor Joe has lived by the concept that the Apostle Paul lived by, while not begrudging those who accept compensation; 1 Corinthians 9:13-18.

Do you not know that those who minister the holy things eat of the things of the temple, and those who serve at the altar partake of the offerings of the altar? Even so the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should live from the gospel. But I have used none of these things, nor have I written these things that it should be done so to me; for it would be better for me to die than that anyone should make my boasting void.

For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of, for necessity is laid upon me; yes, woe is me if I do not preach the gospel! For if I do this willingly, I have a reward; but if against my will, I have been entrusted with a stewardship. What is my reward then? That when I preach the gospel, I may present the gospel of Christ without charge, that I may not abuse my authority in the gospel.

The Lord has rewarded Pastor Joe by elevating him from starting work as a computer operator and then being promoted to computer technician, network analyst, trainer, consultant, to eventually a computer science professor. He has worked at Palo Alto College as a professor since August 2002, starting off as an instructor and becoming the department chair of the Computer Science and Management Information Systems departments.

Pastor Joe is a first-generation college student in his family and went to Wayland Baptist University and graduated with honors with a degree in business. He went on to get a master’s degree in computer science and then finishing his education with a doctorate in Biblical Studies from Master’s International University of Divinity.
